  • The following is a list of scheduled Rescue Diver Classes.
  • Rescue Diver class starts June 27th at 6:30pm at The Newport Diving Center call or come in today to reserve your place in this class.
    The class schedule will be:
  • June 27th will be Knowledge Development for Rescue and Paperwork at 6:30pm
  • June 28th will be Ocean dive rescue scenarios at 9:00am - Weather permitting
    Also Emergency First Responder (EFR) at 6:30pm
  • June 29th will be Ocean dive rescue scenarios at 9:00am - Weather permitting
  • June will be Ocean dive rescue scenarios start at 9:00am - Weather permitting


  • This price of this class is $399.00
    This class includes Emergency First Response certification with this price.

    • Please bring water or gatorade to refresh yourself as you will need to drink plenty of fluids during the skills training.
  • Any make up dive(s) on the part of the student failing to show up for class, that is unexcused are $35.00 per dive.


  • There is a $100.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit to hold you place in any of these classes.

    Here at Newport Diving Center you can purchase any or all of these items or more with a student discount (on any Scuba equipment that is not already marked down). To receive a student discount you must be a paid student for any of our Scuba classes.

    If you are using older or borrowed Scuba gear please bring it to The Newport Diving Center for inspection before the classes begins not on the day of the class.

    What Newport Diving Center supplies.

    • Air fills for your tanks - You do not pay for the air you use in the class and must be filled or refilled the day of the class
    • Rescue Diver Crew Pack Study guide and paper work
    • Instruction with certified Instructor
    • Certification upon completion


    • Why PADI Rescue Diver?

      The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

      What do I need to start?

      PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
      Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
      Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months

      What will I do?

      Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:

      Self-rescue and diver stress
      dive first aid
      emergency management and equipment
      swimming and non-swimming assists
      panicked diver response
      underwater problems
      missing diver procedures
      surfacing the unconscious diver
      inwater artificial respiration
      egress (exits)
      first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
      dive accident scenarios
      How long will it take?

      Recommended Course Hours: 25
      Minimum Open Water Training: five sessions

      NO RENTAL GEAR WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RENT TO ANY CLASS DURING THE CLASS.
