discounts can be given for the referral classes).
Also do have more then one person in your family who wants to learn to Scuba Dive at the same time as you? Family discounts available only when taken together, call and ask for more
information on the family discount program.
- The following is a list of scheduled Open Water Classes. The Open Water class is the first class you have to take
to become a Certified Scuba Diver, You can move up in the Scuba Ranks from there if you wish.

- There are 2 words of warning for you if you are shopping around for a Scuba Class. So please take note.
1. Make sure the class your taking is a Certification class, Just ask if you will be a certified Open Water
Scuba diver when the class is done. Here at The Newport Diving Center all of our classes ARE certification classes and
you will receive a PADI certification when you have completed the class in full from a PADI 5 Star Facility.
2. Many places do no tell you everything you need until you need it, and it could unexpectedly cost you a lot
more money then you expected to finish the class. We hide nothing we will tell you what the student needs to supply and
what we supply for the class, it is all listed below.

An Open Water class starts Monday May 19th 2008 at The Newport Diving Center, please call or come in To The
Newport Diving Center today to reserve your place in this class. Classes fill up fast do not loose out and come in
today to sign up!

Monday June 2nd 2008 at 6:30pm At The Newport Diving Center - Academic
Wednesday June 4th, 2008 at 6:30pm At The Newport Diving Center - Pool
Saturday June 7th, 2008 at 9:00am At The Newport Diving Center - Open Water 1 + 2
Sunday June 8th, 2008 at 9:00am At The Newport Diving Center - Open Water 3 + 4 + 5
(NOTE: Saturday June 7th at 9:00am and Sunday June 8th at 9:00am Weather Permitting).
What the student needs to supply.
Everything listed below is the minimum you need, this is also known as Basic Snorkeling Gear.
- Scuba Mask
- Scuba Dive Fins
- Scuba Snorkel
- Scuba Booties
- Weight Belt + Weights (10% of body weight + 15 pounds)
- Gloves
- Hood - If Needed
- Dive Knife - Not mandatory but highly recommended.
- Underwater (Dive) Watch - Not mandatory but highly recommended.
Here at Newport Diving Center you can purchase any or all of these items or more with a student discount
(on any Scuba equipment that is not already marked down). To receive a student discount you must be a paid
student for any of our Scuba classes.
If you are using older or borrowed Scuba gear please bring it to The Newport Diving Center for inspection
before the classes begins not on the day of the class.

Please note: Due to the time it takes and the store policies:
NO RENTAL GEAR WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RENT TO ANY CLASS DURING THESE CLASS.
