    • The following is a list of schelduled Advanced Open Water Classes.

    JUNE 2008 CLASS

  • Advanced Open Water class starts Friday June 13th, 2008 at The Newport Diving Center
    Call or come in today to reserve your place in this class.
    The class schedule will be:
    Friday: June 13th at 6:30pm - Academics and Paperwork
    Saturday: June 14th at 8:30am - Dives 1 - 3
    Sunday: June 15th at 8:30am - Dives 4 & 5
    (NOTE: Saturday June 14th at 8:30am and Sunday June 15th at 8:30am Weather Permitting).

  • Any unexcused absences from a dive (student fails to show) will cost an extra $50.00 per dive. - NO EXCEPTIONS

  • There is a $100.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit to hold you place in any of this class and must be paid in full by June 13th.

What the student needs to supply.

  • Scuba Mask
  • Dive Fins
  • Scuba Snorkel
  • Scuba Booties
  • Weight Belt + Weights (10% of body weight + 15 pounds)
  • Gloves
  • Hood - If Needed
  • Underwater Light
  • Dive Knife
  • Underwater (Dive) Watch or Dive Computer

Here at Newport Diving Center you can purchase any or all of these items or more with a student discount (on any Scuba equipment that is not already marked down). To receive a student discount you must be a paid student for any of our Scuba classes.

If you are using older or borrowed Scuba gear please bring it to The Newport Diving Center for inspection before the classes begins not on the day of the class.

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

    The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

    Why Advanced Open Water Diver?

    After your five dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better understand the underwater environment.

    What do I need to start?

    PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization)
    Minimum age: 15 (12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

    What will I do?

    This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of the following:

    • Drift Diver
    • Deep Diver
    • Night Diver
    • Peak Performance Buoyancy
    • Underwater Navigator

    How long will it take?

    • Recommended Course Hours: Aprox: 10 Hours
    • Minimum Open Water Training: five dives over two days

    Please note: Due to the time it takes and the store policies:
    NO RENTAL GEAR WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR RENT TO ANY CLASS DURING THE CLASS.

    Class is a PADI Certification.
